Dr. Boone joined Eye Surgical in 1996. He is a native Visalian, having attended Mt. Whitney High School and the College of the Sequoias. He completed his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Boone then attended medical school at the University of Southern California, graduating in 1992. While at USC, Dr. Boone met his future wife, a fellow medical student.
In search of a high quality eye surgery residency program, Dr. Boone moved to Missouri to attend St. Louis University Eye Institute. After four years of cold winters and humid summers, the Boone family moved back to Visalia.
Dr. Boone brings expertise in cataract and refractive surgery to Eye Surgical. He has been certified to use the excimer and femtosecond lasers in the LASIK procedure and has performed thousands of surgeries to date. Dr. Boone also performs laser-assisted, no stitch, no shot cataract surgery at Noble Surgery Center. He is certified and proficient in implanting multiple intraocular lens implants, including devices that correct astigmatism and near vision. In addition to surgical procedures, Dr. Boone sees many patients with a variety of eye related medical conditions.
Dr. Boone, the ophthalmologist, is married to Dr. Andrea Boone, the OB/Gyn. They have three daughters, Kaitlin, Megan and Natalie. In addition to spending his time with his family, Dr. Boone enjoys golf and fly fishing.
